Yesterday Professor Loffredo (as part of the E.J.P.), the Urban Justice Center and Paul, Weiss filed a class action against State of New York and the Legislature "claiming that the State has not met its constitutional obligation to care for the needy. The State has not raised public assistance grant for almost twenty years, leaving poor people to live in bleak and precarious circumstances."

In addition to being an amazing litigator, professor and person, Professor Loffredo started, with others, the Economic Justice Project after the welfare massacre of 1996.
