BLSA Gala: Amazing Even but where where the deans?

Last Friday BLSA hosted a first annual 'Yes We Can' Barrister's ball. The ball was amazing and the tributes to Professors Luis DeGraffe and M. Shanarah Gilbert were heartwarming. It was evident that the BLSA board's hard work paid off and was example that we go to school with amazing, dedicated and talented people.

Despite the success of the ball, Deans Anderson, Gomez-Velez, Koster and Burton were no where to be found. Though the deans may have purchased tickets for students, it was disappointing that none of the senior administration came to support the event. (Though the Dean of Admissions was there). There was also a noticeable lack of white professors at the event.

In the past, there have been a number of professors and deans at PILA, which (from the perspective of a student-attendee who is not affiliated with BLSA or PILA) makes the absence at the ball seem outrageous. What gives?
